FISHERMAN'S WHARF - San Francisco Watercolor

Spanning from Ghirardelli Square to Pier 39, the San Francisco fishing fleets are the heartbeat of Fisherman’s Wharf. Famous for its wide variety of seafood, you can’t leave Fisherman’s Wharf without sampling the clam chowder, Dungeness crab, salmon sandwich and of course the famed Sourdough French Bread. Fisherman's Wharf gets its name and from San Francisco’s Gold Rush days when Italian immigrant fishermen settled in the area and fished for Dungeness crab.  Fisherman’s Wharf landmarks are expansive.  They include Pier 39, the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, the Cannery Shopping Center, Ghirardelli Square, Ripley's Believe it or Not museum, Rainforest Cafe, the Wax Museum and so much more.

Several restaurants, including Fisherman's Grotto, Pompei's Grotto and Alioto's, go back for three generations of the same family ownership.

“As a child, I always enjoyed the fun and energy of the wharf.  Those memories are like yesterday.”
